WHAT ARE CRIOLLO HORSES

Criollo horses are from Argentina where they are used on ranches for working cattle by gauchos. Due to their versatility and unique temperament they are now used in many equestrian fields, polo, endurance and trail riding.

Criollos are horses of strong character, fearless and independent but also very trusting and affectionate. These hardly little horses are very good natured and are 100% trustworthy under the saddle. They are suitable for novice riders, but equally are great fun for experienced riders, turning on a ten pence piece if asked to.

1500 Criollos are imported into Europe every spring, travelling by boat for about three weeks from Argentina to Italy and then on to Holland.
